Lovely Liebster Award

•May 12, 2013 • 6 Comments

Good evening.

My blogging bug is back and this evening I was blessed to yet again receive another blogging award thanks to ‘Especially Made’ (http://especiallymade.wordpress.com/)!

I have come to really love your blogs and I am blessed that you have nominated me! Thank you for your kindness!

Why do I blog?

I began blogging with an awareness that shortly I would be leaving my family and my friends and that I wanted to share my adventures with them and with other bloggers. This I now intend to do through my new blog ‘Journey with Jess’ (http://journeyingwithjess.wordpress.com/). Now my blog has become about my hobbies, my hopes, my dreams, my thoughts, my creations, my opinions, my rantings and more. My blog is a representation of my mind. I wanted to share my faith and how I am learning about my faith and hopefully growing in it. I have ended up sharing a process from one point to another where God is the answer (depending on the type of post). I love reading your blogs and learning about your lives!

An award is not a complete blessing and gift if I cannot share it with others too. This award is the Liebster Award meaning ‘dearest’ or ‘beloved’  and recognises up-and-coming blogs, those that have a good following, but deserve more.

These are my nominees:

1) http://katherinebell1.wordpress.com/

Her journey to Chile and Ecuador with OM for Jesus, her King!

2) http://faithrises.com/

A blog ‘s  Faith and persevering in your faith!

3) http://cornishcaptures.wordpress.com/

A Blog displaying Cornish Captures through photography!

4) http://www.dpnwordpress.org/ellie/

A blog about a young girl’s journey into adulthood.

5) http://demasblue.wordpress.com/

A photography blog with biblical truths!

6) http://godschick.wordpress.com/

A blog by a Pastor’s wife about her life and her family.

7)http://thethinkingofthoughtsblog.wordpress.com/

An honest blog described as the thinking of thoughts!

8)http://lessonsbyheart.wordpress.com/

A blog about lessons learnt by heart taught by God!

9) http://poetrybydeborahann.wordpress.com/

A poetry blog inspired by God!

10) http://crashingintograce.wordpress.com/

11) http://cindypowell.wordpress.com/

To my Nominees, if you would like to post about this award and pass on the blogging love, here are the official rules:

1. Each blogger should post 11 facts about himself or herself.
2. Each blogger should answer the questions that are asked by the person doing the nominating.
3. Choose 11 bloggers to nominate for the Award and link to them in the post. (Don’t feel confined to this number – not all have them.)

4. Create new questions for your nominees.
5. Go back to their pages and tell them they’ve been nominated.

My answer to ‘Especially Made’s’ Questions:
1. Why did you start blogging?

I started blogging to share about my upcoming journey and my experience of becoming a ‘grown-up’ although to be honest my blogging has become so much more!
2. What book are you currently reading?

‘God doesn’t call the qualified – he qualifies the called’

I would go to either Cyprus  or Gibralta or Africa or Greece or Spain…. I haven’t travelled at all but I am studying Spanish, my grandparents and parents all (at one point or another) lived in Cyprus and Gib and I’d love to see the place they talk about, Africa inspires me and Greece’s history fascinates me!
5. What was the best gift you ever received?

I have received many amazing gifts but currently all I can think of was the camera for my 18th/ Christmas present as I love photography!
6. If you could request your last meal, what would it be?

As quoted by my mother, probably ‘some pasta dish’…
7. What is your favourite room in your home?

When it’s tidy my bedroom…. otherwise the family room or garden if it’s nice out!

Have you ever felt something like this?

Or this?

It’s safe to say that this is how I feel right now?

When you know God has a plan,

And everything seems to be coming up against you…

An Honest Confession

•May 12, 2013 • 10 Comments

At this time in the morning I should definitely be asleep but my brain appears to have woken up and gone to thinking.

As I sit here, I am thinking about everything that’s coming up and the excitement of this week and about my Christian friends and what we’re all doing now or soon and it makes me laugh and cry!

To start one of my best friends is off to Chile with OM, another is in Kenya, a third is training to be a pastor….. Actually many of my friends are training around this field, my church is changing and growing and I couldn’t be more excited about all of these things…

But inside there is a small part if I was honest – and my mother would leap for joy – that would say I’m a little bit jealous! I know jealousy is not good but hear me out.

Now I know that this year God’s not sending me abroad or to bible college and that I am not to stay here as He begins to moves through my land like never before – ironic huh – but there’s a small part that wishes I was.

Now perhaps in a year I’ll also be off to bible college & another time I may go and do a mission abroad short-term. But the thing is that right now God doesn’t want me at home doing what I’ve do in the same rough location and the same people as I have been for the last 10years. God doesn’t want me in Chile or Kenya now nor in September. God doesn’t even want me in bible college come september. He wants me in Lancashire. This isn’t a new thing.

Who am I to tell Godwhat he has for me isn’t good enough? I can’t mainly because I believe it’s good enough. If and when God wants me in bible college or abroad and it wouldn’t surprise me if he did- he’ll let me know but right now I need to be where he’s called me because my journey is just as exciting and purposefull to God!

So I can feel a little jealous about how exciting everyone elses plans sound but I am excited for them, proud of them and excited that God is using me and my friends for his glory.

Focus on the goal and don’t be distracted by the other runners and how they are running, though all the runners run to the same destination together, each runner’s race is unique designed for a specific purpose for such a time as this!

CHRISTian poetry ~ by deborah ann

imagesCATMXNWL

There is not a fear,
that Jesus can’t conquer
there is not an enemy
that He can’t capture.

There is not a problem,
that Jesus can’t solve
there is not a dilemma
that He can’t resolve.

There is not a burden,
that Jesus can’t lift
there is not a load
that He can’t shift.

There is not a need,
that Jesus can’t provide
there is not a sea
that He can’t divide.

There is not a darkness,
that Jesus can’t make light
there is not a sin
that He can’t make right.

There is not a moment,
that Jesus isn’t there
there is not one soul
for which He doesn’t care!

There’s a Light at the end of the Tunnel.

So I’ve been thinking… a lot.

My last blog where I delved into where I was and spoke about the hard times.

See here – https://jemiluce.wordpress.com/2013/03/06/hard-times/

At that point I thought everything would just get better. But the truth it is. I don’t think it was that simple. No if it had been simple then in the past 3-4 months I would have probably had a completely different perspective and a completely different journey.

images (1)

The truth is that in my 18 years these past few months I would describe as my darkest years. Now you could say that I’m young. I can’t have experienced a whole lot of hardship. And in comparison to some what I’ve been through is nothing. But that doesn’t mean my life has been easy. That would be a lie. For me this has been like being trapped at the bottom of a steep valley without the energy to escape.  I still don’t have that energy. I literally run on empty. I have no idea how I get up and get on each day. For me it’s a miracle.

I think the bottom line is for too long I pretended there was nothing going on and didn’t say anything. Then when I realised, I looked at my support network and thought of excuses (all completely legitimate) not to go to them. I saw that the family I was closest too had things of their own to deal with, my grown up friends were working or busy, the friends my age wouldn’t have understood the complexity and if I was really honest, I didn’t think how I felt was important enough to put any of my struggles and the burdens I put on myself and others put on me were worth anything.

So they ate me up.

You see….

When you suppress what you feel. When you feel worthless. When you hide from the world. When you pretend everythings ok.

When you carry burdens that weren’t yours to carry. When you neglect yourself . When you depend on others.

When you stop depending on others. When you forget the truth. When you shut yourself away.

jail_cell1

When you give up on everything important to you.

This is when who you are begins to become non-existent.

Sisyphean toil

You destroy yourself.

But through the hard times you learn lessons….

In my related post (as shown above)  I said that I’d learnt about neglect.

What I learnt this week is that I am just as important as everyone else.

images (3)

I’m not worthless. I am worth something. I am precious.

you-are-precious-in-my-sight-christian-message-card-copy

More than that God loves me.

Now this might sound stupid. But I have been a Christian for 10 years(+) now and I had forgotten in my circumstances that God loves me. The most shocking thought is that I forgot at Easter. But maybe that’s a reminder for me.

They seemed so big that how could God reach me where I was.

I forgot God is GOD!

images (6)

Since then I feel a little lighter.

Now I will look after myself (because if your like me you look after everyone else (whether you should or not) but not you), I will communicate with people because how I feel is important to and I will turn to God because only he can get me through my circumstances.

I’m not at the end of my struggles but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!
