‘This is Our Resolution’

‘This is our resolution

Our answer to the call

We will love our wives and children

We refuse to let them fall’

‘This is our Resolution’

Resolution is defined as ‘the act of resolving or determining upon an action or course of action, method, procedure, etc.’

Resolving to do something is a strong commitment to something important to you otherwise why would you make the resolution. A resolve is a promise.

In the song, Casting Crowns are resolving to be Courageous.

There are times in life where we need to make resolutions.

Like to fight or not in some cases, to do something new and exciting, to pass a test, to raise your children, to get a job and the list goes on and on and on…

My first question to you: What’s your resolution?

‘Our answer to the call’

So what is the call?

The call is what the world is shouting for – what it’s crying out for. On the forefront, it appears that what this world needs is more money, a bigger house, a better phone, a larger TV as well as a load of other stuff.

But that’s the thing it’s just stuff!

What this world needs are strong fathers, loving mothers, happy marriages, joyful children. What this world needs is peace, love, joy, hope, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. What this world needs is a Christian society that is united, praying for them, working with and amongst them, loving them, not judging etc.

That’s the call. So what is the answer to this call?

Well it’s simple…

We need to be:

Strong Fathers              Loving Mothers         Happy Marriages        Obedient Children

Peace       Love     Joy        Hope       Patience       Kindness      Goodness

Faithfulness      Gentleness     Self-control

Christians who are?

United

Prayerful

Working in and with their communities

Loving

Not judging

‘We will love our wives and children’

What a commission. Let’s turn it around!

‘We will love our wives and children’

‘We will love our husbands and children’

‘We will love our parents and siblings’

That is a part of the call we were just talking about. We are called to love our wives, husbands, girlfriends, boyfriends, children and siblings.

Did you know if the trends continue approximately 40% of all marriages in the UK will end in divorce?

What does this leave? Broken families…

I don’t know about anyone else but this could be reduced if people just loved each other.

That would be a way to make the world change!

We refuse to let them fall’

This is so key! We refuse to let our families fall. That’s refusing to let a partner, child, brother, sister (etc.) fall.

If we make that resolution to refuse to let those around us fall then we chooses to hold them up, support them, not hurt them, encourage them etc.

(I know a lot of etc.)

This is verse is just simply about what we can do to change our world.

 What is your resolution?

What is your answer to the call?

Will you love your family?

Will you refuse to let them fall?

Will you work in your world to change our world?
